Marketing Strategies: How to Test Your Advertising!
by Michele DeKinder-Smith, Founder
Once upon a time, only major corporations and Fortune 500 companies took the time to test their advertising. But as small business owners become more savvy–and the cost of advertising continues to rise–testing the effectiveness of ads, whether in print or on the web, is one of those marketing strategies that just makes sense.
First of all, you’ll want to determine exactly where you want to spend your hard-earned cash. Think about your target market–i.e., the people with the highest likelihood of being interested in the products or services you’re offering. What publications are they reading? What websites are they visiting?

| Hello, Jane members and friends!
Do you have a good Jane Out of the Box story? Has something you've read or heard on the site helped you in life or in your business? If so, please contact our Media Relations Specialist, Angela Vallera. A major women's magazine is writing a story about Jane and would like to include some information about one or two members, their businesses and their feedback about the site. |
One of the joys of being a woman business owner is the ability to make your own schedule–and that's just what I'm doing this week. I've taken a few days away to travel to Chicago with my family for our first college hunting visit for our son, RJ. If you have a spare minute, click over to our blog to learn more.
Have a great week!
Michele

Career Coach Sherri Thomas is a published author, international speaker and President of Career Coaching 360, which provides personal career coaching, strategies, and tools to help clients transition into rewarding and enriching careers. Sherri has worked in television, radio, public relations, finance, retail, high tech and professional sports industries. Now she is a career coach to teach other professionals how to make strategic job changes that advance their careers.
Sherri began her business for two reasons. The first is that she has always been happy to share information on changing careers and industries, and she found that people appreciated her information and templates,
|
which got her thinking seriously about opening her own company to help professionals change their careers. The second is she became increasingly dissatisfied with her "day" job making another company money with her time and talents.
Sherri says, "I find that by doing career coaching (which is what I’m absolutely meant to be doing), I’m emotionally filled with meaning, purpose and blasts of energy! Working with people who value and appreciate you is the greatest gift you can give yourself. When my alarm clock goes off in the morning, I can’t wait to start my day!"
